Insta month #2

Can't believe it's already April! Also this month has definitely gone way too fast. Also a lot of things happened to my: I met so many important and royal people (blog post). I went to Italy and got lots of new clothes and shoes.
I remember like it was yesterday when I've got some beautiful and instagram worthy roses as a gift.
Another thing I had to take a insta picture of was my breakfast: Green juice + newest issue of Elle. That reminds me of my favorite quote "When I first moved to New York I bought Vogue instead of dinner. I just felt it fed me more." -Carrie Bradshaw

Later I went on a ski holiday to Italy with my family. It was great and the weather was fabulous. I must honestly say that I love skiing and it's my favorite sport even though I have ballet classes 3 times at week. There is just something about skiing that makes me love it so much. Maybe it's the speed that you can reach or the control that you have over your skies or maybe just the nature and the amazing view. I don't know, but anyway I seriously love skiing.
So that's what happened to me this month.

A day in my life

After hearing the news that Zayn Malik had left One Direction my soul died inside. Seriously I cried for hours and I'm still not completely over it now. My plan was actually to blog a couple of times this past week but unfortunately life happens and I simply couldn't get it together and write a blog post (or do anything productive in my life). I know that life moves on and so should I to but I still can't think about anything else than 1D.

Right now I'm home but just a couple of days ago I was in Madonna Di Campiglio in Italy with my family. We actually came home yesterday and my plan was to blog while being there but the internet was so poor and my heart was (and still is) broken so I couldn't really do it. Anyways I thought that it would be fun to show you what a typical day looks like for me while I'm on ski vacation.

Road trip essentials

So much is happening right now in my life. A couple of days ago I got a mail from my ballet school with an invitation to a modern ballet show preformed by the Amsterdam ICK. It was an event hosted by the Dutch Royal Family that visited Copenhagen this week. I didn't exactly know what was going to happen but my ballet teacher told us to put on our finest dresses and get all dressed up. So yesterday I went to Copenhagen and guess what - it turned out to be a big event hosted by the Dutch Royal family. The whole Danish royal family, the Danish prime minister, some politicians and a bunch of other important people all in long beautiful dresses and with perfect hair. It was all super glamorous and I honestly fell a little like a princess surrounded by all of the important people. Unfortunately I couldn't really get a picture - I think it would be a little inappropriate.

Anyways tomorrow I'm going to Italy with my whole family for our traditional ski trip. We are going by car and it takes a whole day so it's pretty long. Therefore I decided to show you what I love to bring with me and some essentials when going on a long road trip.

Breakfast ideas

I'm definitely a morning person. For me there is nothing better than waking up super early (also on the weekends) so I can do yoga and have a lot of time to prepare a nice breakfast. If I don't get out of my bed early I will immediately have a bad day. Of course when my alarm starts to ring the first thing that comes to my mind is to go back to sleep. But then I remember that I'm starving and I force myself out in the kitchen so I can make myself a nice breakfast. It's the meal I can't skip - I'm such a big breakfast person. Therefore I decided to share some of my favorite breakfast recipes with you. Even through I have way too much time in the morning I don't like to spend way too long on my breakfast. That's why the recipes are all super easy,  delicious and fast. I would also so that they are mostly pretty healthy.

Banana/Oats pancakes
-Banana
-Egg
-Oats
-Milk
First I put my banana, egg and oats in a bowl and mix it all together with an hand blender. Then I just cook them on a pan on medium heat. If you want to make them sweeter you can add some syrup or honey on top. However the banana is already sweet itself so I prefer them without anything on top.

Alexa's bookclub

I can't hide that I love reading. There is this quote: Reading is dreaming with open eyes. And it's so true. Whenever I'm reading a good book I'm in a whole different world. It's the best way for me to take a break from everything and just think about something different. I love comparing myself to the main character and imagining what I would do. That's why I completely forget the time when I read and also can't stop myself from continue reading the next page (but only if it's a good book ofc).
I must say that I mostly read young adult novels about teen girls, but sometimes I also pick a book like Stephen King's Under the dome or the 2014 bestseller Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl. So I must say it changes pretty much all the time.

I my hectic life I don't get so much time to read that I would wish I had. But whenever I have a moment off I love to grab a good book. Whenever I'm traveling I also love to read. Especially on long trips with an airplane, train or with the car. And that bring me to the fact that I'm going to Italy for skiing. We do that every single year so it's kind of a tradition now. And every time we drive through Germany, France, Switzerland, Lichtenstein and Austria, so it's quite a long trip. That's why I love to bring a good book with me.

Here are some of my favorites:
John Green - Paper Towns
Paul Torday - Salmon Fishing in the Yemen
Sophie Kinsella - Confessions of a Shopaholic
Alice Sebold - The Lovely Bones
Jane Austen - Pride and prejudice
Kiera Cass - The Selection Stories
Jay Asher - Thirteen Reasons Why
F. Scott Fitzgerald - The Great Gatsby
Kathryn Stockett - The Help
John Green, Maureen Johnson and Lauren Myracel - Let it Snow

Shoe obsession

Since I was a little girl I've had a passion for shoes. I just can't have enough pairs. While having a bad day a brand new pair of shoes can always tear my up. As a little girl I remember getting a pair of toy princes heels. I wore them all the time at home even through I was constantly tripping. Then one day I lost one shoe and my mom throw the other out. I remember crying for hours, I just couldn't stand the fact that I lost my best friends. Shoes have always been a big part of my life.

Here are 10 pairs I'm completely in love with. Oh I wish that I could have them all, but unfortunately I only can get some of them.
I'm going to a school dance soon, so I definitely need a nice pair of black heels. Besides that my mom also promised me a new pair of black loafers since I have worn my old pair way to much. A nice pair of sneakers are also on my shoe wishlist but I have to choose between a pair of Adidas Superstars or Adidas Stan Smiths. The choice is almost impossible but I think I will go with the Superstars.

3 gold DIYs

I love decorating and organizing my room. Shopping room decorations is one of my favourite things to do in the entire world. However I tend to buy too much and spend way too much on home decor stuff. Therefore I love making small decoration DIY from things that I already have laying around my bedroom. I must be honest with you and say that my style changes constantly. One month I'm all about flower patterns and color, the next month I'm more into a minimalist black/white kind of theme. Right now I'm obsessed with everything gold, from nail polish and jewelry to room decor.
That's why I made this 3 little DIY projects that only requires materials you probably already have at home.

For the first DIY only requires a bulletin board, tape and gold acrylic paint. First you need to put tape from one corner the other corner of the bulletin board. Then paint in between the tape and let it dry. This really adds a lot to your room, especially if you place it on your desk (I did so). I promise you it looks really cool.

In(sta)spiration

When I am bored out in the public, I usually go on my phone and stalk some people on Instagram. During my oh so productive stalking sessions I constantly find new amazing accounts I instantly fell in live with.
They always inspire, motivate my and the pretty pictures makes me so happy.
Here are some of my favorite Instagram accounts I follow:

@blushshop is one of the most perfect accounts I have ever seen. All of their pictures look like they just came out from a pinteres/we heart it page. They are all so bright and lovely!

Holographic chic

I'm really into everything holographic at the moment. Probably because it's all around Tumblr and We heart it, which I'm pretty obsessed with. It's definitely not here to stay, but it's super cute and kind of the new "galaxy pattern" if you know what I mean.
I own a pair oh holographic doc Martens, my beloved "moon boots". They are super cool and whenever I wear them, it's like I have a sign above my head that says "Look at me!". However I don't wear them as much as I should.

Healthy broccoli soup with coconut milk

Every Tuesday I make dinner for my mom and I, today I decided to try something different: a broccoli cream soup with coconut milk.
The soup turned out really well and it was very tasteful. Cream soups are just so good, super healthy and perfect for the cold winter/spring weather.
